Kane started his career as a professional Australian Rules Football (AFL) player at the age of 17. Over the next 14 years, he went on to win two premierships with the Adelaide Crows and captain the Richmond Tigers.
During his final year as captain of Richmond, Kane began his journey into QiGong meditation and started researching cleaner ways of eating and living – using these methods as a way to optimise the physical side of his training and also help deal with the stress and pressure that came with being an AFL player.
This experience led Kane to explore complementary techniques post football, which included training with monks in China, studying at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, and spending countless hours with masters in the wellness field. This journey enabled Kane to find balance and direction, not only as an elite athlete on the field, but in everyday life. From this journey Kane discovered where his post-football passions lay and created Chi Lab to assist others on their own wellness journey. Kane also works along side Sano Health as a health and wellness consultant delivering health and mindfulness programs to corporate companies Australia wide.
Through the regular practice of QiGong meditation and mindfulness methods, as well as incorporating achievable and realistic health and lifestyle changes, Kane has developed a strong understanding of how these practices can calm the mind and optimise the body’s performance.
